Anybody on here ever own a PRS McCarty?

I never gave PRS much thought, but I’ve been intrigued by them lately. I’ve seen the necks described as “wide and thin,” which seems like something I could get along with.

I have a PRS Hollybody Spruce with the "wide fat" neck. I find it perfect for me - just a hair thinner, and sort of a different profile, than a Guild Bluesbird.

Here's the specs on PRS necks:

My understanding is that a McCarty with a "wide thin" neck would be harder to find. If you look a the list of models, McCarty's usually have a "wide fat" neck:

I had one for a fairly short time. It sounded pretty good, and I liked the wide neck. But I just couldn't get past the weight of it.

Thanks for the info, Walrus. It might have been the Tim Mahoney SE I was reading about that stated wide and thin.

I have a SC594 in McCarty Sunburst with 10 Top on order since a long time but it hasn't arrived yet... When I saw the video I was in love...

I know I had my hands on a McCarty when the model first came out, but I don't remember anything specific about how it played or sounded. Looked pretty, though. (I wasn't much into non-Fender solidbodies at the time.)

I had a "Stripped 58" which is a a McCarty single cut without binding or bird inlays, think "studio" (although birds were an upgrade option). USA made, not an "SE". Fairly rare. Otherwise the exact same guitar as a McCarty SC58. Beautiful, perfectly crafted, pick ups were awesome, some of my favorites actually, everything was great about it, except the neck. It had a "pattern" neck profile and it simply did not suit my hands. I finally ended up selling it because I rarely played it after a while. I gave it a lot of time, trying to find a meld with the neck shape, but it never happened. I reluctantly put if up on Reverb just a couple of months ago, and it sold really quickly. If you can find one they go for well under 2K, so they're a real bargain if you can live without the bling.
