Just won a S25 on eBay. 1982, candy apple red, all original. Only bid! Seller has 100% reviews, 4 change deals. Very good deal. Has the volume, volume, tone. XR7 pup"s, chesterfield inlay. Looks puff. Excited.....now the wait to receive it.

I'm not sure how to post pictures. I have a few which show guitar pretty well. They are downloaded on my phone. Any suggestions?

I agree. It is basically a S275. I have a 82 275 also...but this guitar seems to be in excellent shape. And the price was crazy for a vintage Guild. So I bought it.

I looked at that S25 many times. Glad you dig it!

Thank you all. I talked myself into it! I was really hoping for a single coil guitar to augment the S275.....but I saw this. I asked if there were any repairs, damage,.....and there is not. And it appears to be recently set up....so.... I will let you all know.

And, by the way.....does anyone know if this is finished in Nitro? I suspect it is?

A few years ago I would have said "they never used anything else", but I found out later they did.
But don't think they even experimented with poly until about '86 on a couple of the "faux soundhole" acoustic-electrics, the FS46 and DS46 models. ("IIRC" about the specific models)
A quick test is to find an area of the guitar you can test with nail polish remover, like under the wiring cover on the back..
It's basically acetone which dissolves NCL.

Every time I convince myself that an '80s Guild is Poly I see an example with obvious lacquer checking online.

Yeah I think the formulations back then had more solids or something, made 'em harder and shinier but more prone to checking.
NCL finish is a lot like glass and the harder it is the more brittle it is.

I just tracked the guitar and it is now in NJ. I just hope it doesn't get confused on its place of manufacture. Anyway, it's still got a 2000 mile trip before I see it.....
