Only the K of C could swing a "Polka Mass":stupid:

My brother-in-law is a brewing chemist for Sam Adams here in Cincy. Family gatherings never lack for plenty of Sam.

One thing for sure, there will be mass Polka! And it will include accordions.

It actually sounds pretty good when you're hoisting steins! I'll have a couple of local IPA's.

The nickname for accordion in Finland is "pirunkeuhko" - devil´s lung . . .

And it will include accordions.

Before Bill Monroe settled on his legendary lineup, the Bluegrass Band included an accordion.

On an early version of Rocky Road Blues & others, imho, it sounds great in there!

That's funny, Nuuska! Great name for it.

There's some debate as to which instrument is hated most: the accordion, the bagpipes, or the banjo.

Hello

It is really quite funny - while in one end there is a loud unmusical accordion played by someone who is more enthusiast than talent - ( same goes with guitar, but guitar is not that loud ) - in the other end there is a vast collection of fine sweet music. We all have heard it - in soundtracks - in background of our favourite tune etc. - Art Van Damme - and many others.

I vote that the banjo is the most hated.--Rich
One name:
Bela Fleck.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuFviPMuc0s

Still, it's a little known fact that Myron Floren had far more groupies than Earl Scruggs ever did.
Of course, his fans got to see a new tune every week, while Scruggs was sadly relegated to endless reruns of the Jed Clampett theme, on TV at least..

I think "Beer Barrel Polka" fits in nicely, here:

Now, "Beer Barrel Polka" as an accordion and banjo duet, that'd be killer!!

Nice find, Ralph! Except it is a four-string strumming banjo.

Don Reno was my favorite bluegrass banjo player.

And Tony Trischka's first album back in the '70s was outstanding.

Just checked on Amazon, and Trischka's '73 & '75 Rounder albums are available as a compilation called The Early Years. I only had the first album, and at the time it was truly stunning. China Grove is a particular favorite.

Before Bela Fleck, there was Tony Trischka.
