Not BR but it is sure a good looker.

Never seen these stamped numbers, I assume added by a later retailer, (new or used)?

If someone was not familiar with Guilds, they may say to themselves, what is that, (the D), never seen one like that before.

Hans mentioned those in The Bible. It’s a dating code that they used briefly. Sept. 28, 1972

Am I wrong in thinking it odd that the label is on that side?

EDIT: I see a few online.

Some of my Guilds have labels on the bass side, some on the treble, and some with the center strip running right under the middle.

The orientation of the label varies too.

I've seen a couple with a number rubber-stamped on the label, like this one, but never knew what it signified. (Thanks AcornHouse!)

As mentioned, the numbers are a date code. Hans mentions how to read it in his book (hard to read the digits, but I think that is either Aug or Sept 28, 1972). The label on my '72 D-35 (SN 64XXX) is on the treble side, so is upside down when playing, has the same handwriting, but didn't get the date code.

Thanks all.

It has a bit of a neck issue but I love the dark brown old D-25 flatbacks.

Have you priced a bolt on neck or do you want it to be like the original?
