It's my favorite holiday, mainly because it's about food, family, and fun...no gifts please.
And no religious connections either. Imagine that!

Not a good day if you're a turkey, but the Pilgrims must eat.

Cheers to all,
Joe

I guess that depends upon where you learned your history.

Happy Thanksgiving.

That's a really good point, Jamie. I have claimed exactly the same reasons Joe did for loving Thanksgiving. In fact, it's the only holiday I actually celebrate. But, sure, religion clearly does play a role in the founding of this holiday. That said, it is not a religious holiday in the modern world, and so I'm sticking by my/Joe's reasons for loving it. :) :) My best to you all.

Actually, by definition, it's about "giving thanks." Tell someone "Thank you" today.

Same here! Actually the ultimate guy holiday.

I just finished making waffles for the girls, watching the snow fall surrounded by 3 dogs and awaiting Aunt Renee's house at 1:00

Enjoy all!

Bah humbug my foot!!!

Typically I'd be outside putting stuff away for the season or cleaning up but winter hit early last week and it is 11 degrees out. I am still in sweats and a fleece with two warm dogs on either thigh and a big dumb black lab/irish setter mix laying on my bare feet.

Happy Thanksgiving indeed!

BTW, speaking of giving thanks, it was 7 years ago today I had my kidney transplant, thanks to my wife who donated on my behalf.

Hey Chris...Mrs Antney is a direct descendent if the Pilgrims (Howland). Which family is your clan?
I have a few; the Alden and Cooke lines, and another that escapes me at the moment. Also many from many of the other boats in that first migration before 1650’s.
