His Tacoma F-512 sold for $68,750.

GUILD, TAKOMA, 2007
AN ACOUSTIC 12-STRING GUITAR, F-512
Labeled GUILD / MODEL F512 SERIAL NUMBER TK030009

Assay Notes:
This guitar was one of two Guild 12-string guitars supplied directly to David Gilmour by Fender Musical Instruments Corporation in May 2007. Gilmour liked the richness of the sound and kept the guitars for studio use. According to the accompanying emails, Gilmour played this F-512 a little more on initial receipt than the F-412.

I imagine that he doesn't feel the same way about a Strat as he once did. I don't, and I'm going to sell both mine, both vintage. I'm probably ten years younger than him and I've pretty much gone back to acoustic, except for some ongoing Tele fever on the side. Parting with my '74 Olympic White Strat would have a few years ago been unthinkable, now I look forward to it and the $$$ I can fund more recent passions, like vintage Guilds ;)

This is it back when I got it, it had been "Gilmourized" with EMG's by it's former local celebrity owner. I returned it to stock, except for also swapping the 70's diecast bridge with a 60's bridge with steel trem block/saddles.

A trivial point, but I believe his last name is spelled "Irsay" (not "Isray").

I've got a Tacoma F412 that he could purchase for half of what he paid for Gilmour's . . .

No, looks like he has other issues now.

Ralph

I guess we can expect to see 'im poppin' up here anytime then, lookin' to keep the Guild monkey off his back.
This Gilmour dude, though?
Obviously suffering some kind of mental health issues, selling off 2 prime Guild '12-ers like that.

The 1976 Ovation Custom Legend he used on "Pigs on the Wing", “Comfortably Numb”, and other songs on Animals and The Wall went for $399,000, though initial estimate was 3 to 5k.

estimates are crazy low! the black strat at $150,00? should bring at least 3 million. others seem very low as well.
Well, you won! I never thought this would happen.

Look how crazy the bidding went!

What I noticed is that the price it sold for was $3,300,000 but Christies adds the 20% commission and some other charges so the $3,300,000 buyer ended up paying $3,975,000. Well, just a $675,000 commission, peanuts...

Here's the link to all guitars sold (scroll down on that page). Some New Hartford made Ovations sold for crazy prices as well, one of them for $150,000! (The estimate was $1,000 to $1,500 only!)

So obviously there is big guitar buying money out there! I just wonder what all the buyers will do with those instruments. It's hard to imagime that as an "investment". Well, Jim Irsay alone spent about 25% of the auction total on the two guitars and the case...At least he posted on Twitter: "Honored to bring The Black Strat to the public." So I wonder if he will display her or lend it to a player? Or does he plan playing her himself in his cover band? But imagine to play a almost $4M guitar on stage...Makes all the 59 Burst's looking cheap now! Anyway, Jim Irsay has a very huge guitar collection already, so it makes sense for him as long as he has such spare money to spend.

Here's some more info about Irsay's collection:
"In 2016, he purchased the Yellow Cloud electric guitar that Prince used in concerts from the late-1980s until the mid-1990s for $137,500. In 2002, he paid $957,000 for Jerry Garcia's one-of-a-kind "Tiger" guitar. And in 2013, he purchased the Fender Stratocaster used by Bob Dylan in the 1965 Newport Folk Festival for $965,000.
In all, Irsay has about 200 guitars in his collection.
He's also a huge Beatles fan. In 2004, Irsay bought a Gibson SG that George Harrison gave to Badfinger's Pete Ham 35 years earlier. He also purchased the Beatles' 1966 Vox guitar for $408,000 in 2013."

And obviously he is not only into guitars:
