So I have a late Westerly X-150D with Gibson pick ups. After getting a 1967 Starfire XII, I know now have to have '70's HB-1s or at least what was probably in the guitar originally. The Gibson PUs fit loosely in the rings, so I'm assuming it had the pre-Corona humbuckers in it--correct? How close in sound and size are the newer HB-1s to the vintage ones? My very first electric guitar was a Kay Thin-Twin, that somehow became a '63 Polara one day when I came home from high school--for some reason my dad traded it in to a pawnshop next to his work. That was my only Guild until I got the X-150D--but since then, I have lost my mind and bought too many Guild acoustics and electrics to think about right now. I was never that much of a Gibson humbucker fan to begin with, but it just looks so wrong without those Guild covers, and those little buckers on the Starfire are blowing what's left of my mind!
