It's kinda like 12- vs. 14-fret acoustics. There's no "better" really, just different. I don't play much way up the "dusty end" so I tend to prefer the overall feel of 16-fret double-cut semi & fully hollow electrics, including the Starfires. The bridge location feels more comfortable to me when playing. OTOH I love my 19-fret Ibanez AS-50 (335-alike with a body 1/8th smaller than typical) and hollow 18-fret Bluesbird.

Are the horns the same throughout the life of the double cutaway models?
Moreless yes, with the only main difference being the few NH made GSR SF VI which used a different body.

They messed up with the body shape, but those bodies dated from Tacoma days. I have one (hi Michael!) and I wish they had used the proper shape. :grumpy:
