A while back, I rescued this from GC. Anyway, it has the cruddy Japanese tuners that GAD *loves* so much. I have a set of New Staytites, and two sets of old Grovers, Rotomatics and one set with the stair step tuners. They are either Imperials or Super Rotomatics. The Staytites will drop right in, the Grovers would need the tuner holes widened. What is your opinion on which would look better?

TRC is upside down. :cower:

(I’d go with the Sta-tites. Any time you don’t have to alter anything, that’s a good choice. Plus, they’re good tuners.)

Thank you for not showing pics of the tuners. They make me angry.

I don't want to trigger the PTSD that comes from dealing with them. Dr Phillips perscribes cough syrup and tequila, until those symptoms subside.

You just want to see what he ends up buying while “medicated”.

Super-rotos with Art Deco style knobs share knobs with the Imperials, but that's about all. Different ratio and everything. They look different too. But I realize this is an "I hate 'em both" type statement...... so never mind. :devilish:

What were the original that were on it in '66. I general I'm a fan of not changing anything

These are really bad tuners. Most tuners nowadays aren't properly tightened at the factory, just assembled, if you see my meaning. I can crank down on these with a screwdriver like I do with Staytites or any others, and these will never be good tuners.
