You want turkeys you say? Well, here you go.
A couple of toms about to square off for the hen in the background.

No sir, I'm going to honour my mother and father and not give out the family recipe.

Great comeback...

Would have posted sooner but I had to clean up some coffee after that one...

To re-veer (de-veer??).....

A couple of webcams have been set up on eagle nests near Victoria, BC. There are already eggs in the nest.

Here's a new nest in town that we (Audubon Society) are keeping close tabs on. It's located on property in town that we own so we'll be protective.

Stay tuned, since the adults are busy with nest building activities and the female is sitting a lot, so there might even be eggs in the nest.

Great picture, Joe. You wanna' see our Massachusetts version of the bald eagle?

This is a flock of wild turkeys in the trees behind my house. :) Sorry, it's the best I could do at that time of day.

Isn't that what Ben Franklin thought should be the national Bird?

By golly you're right. Anybody remember the WKRP in Cincinatti episode when Les Nessman dropped a bunch of turkeys out of a helicopter for a Thanksgiving giveway? SO what I wanna know is, if turkeys CAN'T fly, how'd they get up in the tree?

Is that actually true about Ben Franklin? If so, I love it! Big, clumsy, and very gregarious... Sounds like America to me. :)

I think it's a little-known fact that turkeys fly. I hate to admit it, but I didn't know it until recently.

Joe, by the way, that looks like a beautiful property you have there. Very cool about the eagles' nest!

HI Chaz: It IS true about Ben Franklin. I knew WILD turkeys could fly, but I was sure that old WKRP reference would be well received: Less Nessman, nerd radio commentator extraordinaire, drops a bunch of live turkeys out of a helicopter on a shopping mall as a promo for the station. He thought that since they were birds, they could fly. Need I say more?
