Please pardon my ignorance but I i never knew of a D26. One showed up locally for sale last week and I thought it was a typo, and that the seller was listing a D25. Of course I was curious so i went to take a look, cash in hand as the one photo looked really good, but we know how that can turn out. Definitely was a worthwhile curiosity and thanks mostly to this site I was able to educate myself on the D26. Ive had a couple of D25s over the years including a 1987 model which i currently still own. Essentially as noted in other posts here, they are the same guitar, except the D26 has a bit more decorative bling, like the gold tuners, white binding, and the light mahogany stain. The D26, to me, is more visually appealing with the extras. Playability, weight and tone are about the same. The fact that Guild only made less than 500 of them and only in 1995 also appealed to me. I wonder how many are still out there, I feel very fortunate to have found this awesome example of the D26, with the original case no less. Anyway just wanted to post up and share a few photos of both.
