While it has been a while, I tried and
very much liked Rotosound medium-gauge strings on my (Tacoma) D55; just hard to get
locally in my area...this thread makes me want to try them again on my NH D55!
As a vear, my son's bass player had a problem with a new set of Rotosound bass strings, and just sort of grumbled about it...think they were too short for a Fender jazz bass, possibly a retailer problem? "DAD" says, let me see what I can do...wrote an email to their contact, within a day got a response from a gent in California and then within days had a whole
new set of bass strings for the kid's Jazz Bass. Who does that? Great company in my book
Just as another aside...the kid had bought said Jazz Bass really cheaply, told that it had a bad truss rod. "DAD" says, let me play with it...only took an hour to find the truss rod was just way out of adjustment, brought back into "spec," and kid is happy camper. I am just a "hacker" with a little sense of mechanical ability. Damn, those "luthiers" at Guitar Center are good, eh? Fair enough, he got a Fender (fretless) Jazz Bass at a salvage price
