I was just playing this straight into a Monoprice Stage Right15W amp and laughed to myself. A budget guitar into a budget amp... and it sounded glorious!!

Budget doesn't mean "bad" anymore. Fifty years ago... that's another story.

It’s those pickups. They’re awesome.
They sure are !! They're the main reason I bought this. I have another DeArmond with Gold Tones. I've had it for 24years and its still the one I grab most ...it sounds absolutely killer!! This M-75 is right up there now

I bought a beautiful Green DeArmond S73 with those pickups on a whim and was blown away by how hard it rocks.

Congrats Anarchris! Sounds like you got yourself a great deal. I’m not familiar with the DeArmond guitar line. Were those gold tone pickups from a certain time period and only on certain models?

Thanks! Yes ,they were made by Fender when Fender owned Guild. The DeArmond line was short lived and was based on Guild models. The Gold Tone pickups have become some of my absolute favorites. They came on the setneck models produced in S Korea
Really great guitars and are still relatively inexpensive
