I took out a few guitars today that I hadn't played in a while. I had kind of forgotten about this little girl. It's a 1955, made in NYC F 30 I got in a trade with another LTG member.

I'm typically not so much a fan of smaller bodied guitars but this one is pretty nice. It's got the Maple back and sides. The Spruce top has wear for sure but really seems appropriate for this guitar. It's almost as old as I am but I will say the F 30 has aged far better than yours truly. It's likely as close to a birth year guitar that I am going to get.

The saddle is pretty much non existent. If I'm still around next Spring, this will be going to Tom Jacobs likely for a neck reset, new saddle and maybe more. here's a few pics.

Oh, I love that! Definitely worthy of a fix so it can continue to be played. I assume a thin neck and nut width?

After looking at a number of guitars from 1951, I rather quickly lost the birth-year focus as they were all fairly uninspiring. Call your ‘55 sweetie a “birth-era” guitar & be done with it!

She's got the look, how do you do it?

You got any buried gallon jars in your backyard with rice in them? That is quite a rediscovery--beautiful

That's a lovely little axe, Richard. Indeed, if that's going to Mr. Fixit, you know you'll be delighted with it.

Nice! Revive her with Mr. Fixit! I don't think I've ever seen a Guild acoustic made in 1955....1957 yes, but not 1955. That's really cool.
