So, after much procrastination, I bought a couple of Dimarzio Virtual '61 humbuckers to fit in the single coil slots and a Distortion+ for the bridge full size 'bucker position. After waiting almost a month for them to come in (Dimarzio does not stock white bobbins for humbuckers - wtf???), I pay for them and?

The Virtual '61's do not fit in the Guild's single coil routes. Back to the local music store to return the pups.

Any guess as to what pups will fit in an emg footprint without being an emg?

Youch. What do they measure LxW? I think the single-slot buckers have a slightly larger footprint than a passive single, but they should't vary too much from the EMG slot if the EMGs were active. I'm still on the search for a pair of singles.

The new pups have that trapezoidal strat footprint, but the route isn't as big. The place I bought the pups from wanted me to bring the guitar in to have it routed to make the pups fit. Smurf that, I'll see what I can to to file down the baseplate to make the pup fit.

I voided my warrant by cutting down the baseplate with a pair of nippers! Fits great now!
