For those who are not familiar with MIRC they are the Manufacturers Instrument Reclamation Corp. They take factory second guitars and refurbish them for resale. My F-130 is a refurb and I contacted Guild to see if they could give me any info on it, specifically what kind of repair work was done on it. Josh McGee of Guild referred me to MIRC for that info. Using the MIRC form I stated my questions. Within a few days I got an email back from Monte Richards, who I think is the president of MIRC. He stated that the guitar is a 2010 and was sent to MIRC for back repair. Well, I have been all over the back of that guitar and I can find no evidence of any repair whatsoever. No swirls, no cleats, no discolorations. It looks brand new. MIRC does great work and thanks to Monte for taking the time to respond to me personally.

I would highly recommend an MIRC refurbished guitar to anyone looking for a quality guitar at a very reasonable price. I've got my eye on a Guild CO-1 Tacoma that is an MIRC refurb right now.

Thanks for the report. We have often discussed MIRC before but the discussion tends to speculate as to whether Fender dumped Guild product from the West Coast and, if so, why. Ignoring how it got there, it ls nice to hear that MIRC is doing good work on the Guilds it gets.

Coulda been as simple as a loose brace or purfling. Given that the GADs're finished with polyester lacquer, anything requiring lacquer touchup is probably cost prohibitive as the stuff is bascially impossible to do touchups on.
That's not to belittle their service though. When I first got curious about 'em a couple of years back I found their website, and a little bit of poking around satsifed me that they were a reputable outfit, very upfront about their business model.
Nice to hear they also respond personally to customers and can actually give info about a specific instrument.
