Hey, Brad... As far as the old open-backs are concerned... Keep 'em clean and tri-flow occasionally and you should be fine. If you don't already have one of these, see below. This will last more than a lifetime:

Only StewMac could have the chutzpah to charge $16.50 for a quarter ounce of TriFlow. I accomplish the same thing with a $.10 5ml syringe.Agreed, Tri-flow is great stuff. I have too many old guitars with open back tuners so I had to get the large version!
