Some of you might remember my quest a few years back to attempt a split coil on a S275 I had. I actually purchased push/pull pots, and such. I had also purchase a like new 82 or 83 S25.
Well, while I was waiting for the S25 to arrive a 2014 60th Anniversary Classic Player Strat came up on Reverb. It is finished in desert sand NCL. It has 57/62 pups, and gold hardware including a good aluminum pickguard. Since I was jonesing for single coil sound I purchased it. It was around $500.00. A few blemishes from use...
I have owned several Strats, from 60's, 70's through Japanese. This 2014 is by far the best. I never had anything close. Paired with my Fender Super Champ X2 it sounds like a holy grail set up.
Anyone else tried one?

Nice Strat Bowenite! I like the Mary Kaye-ish look it has with the gold hardware.

I've never played a Classic Player, but I recently played an early 2000s AVRI 50s reissue which was an unusually special guitar. It cost almost 4x what yours cost, so it had better be outstanding, IMHO. It's the first time I had played a Stratocaster built to exacting 50s specs, so maybe that was the certain "feel" I had never experienced before with another Strat.

It was light, resonant, and super punchy. This example had small frets, but if I'm not mistaken, Classic Players have medium jumbos. I think '57 was the transition to the shallower, rounder neck too. Does yours have this type of neck or more of the V-shape?

It has a soft V neck. It is modeled after the 50s strat. It also has the truss adjustment in the heel, so the neck must be removed for adjustment. These guitars look identical to David Gilmour's number one 50's Strat.
It is amazing to have this guitar. After decades of chasing that tone, as we all did back in the day, to have a perfect set up (guitar/amp) for under $1000. is crazy.

I had one of these for awhile. Really nice neck, good weight, spot-on fit & finish. Dark-ish sound for a Strat due to the aluminum pickguard but also quieter than usual hum-wise. I was gonna replace the guard to brighten it up, but then I loaned it to an acquaintance who fell in love with it and now owns it. Note: I thought the guitar sounded really good but got a bit hung up on what I thought a Strat "should" sound like. Ironically another Strat I now own with Dano-style lipstick tube pickups sounds a lot like the 60th Anniversary CP. 😊

that is an incredibly clean looking Strat. Love the color. Such a great design. Is this Japan made or US? forgive me, I know very little about electric guitars.
It is Nitro laquer desert sand. It was made in Mexico under direction of the Fender Custom Shop. The entire guitar is nitrocellulose. Alder body, maple neck. Locking tuners, two point tremelo. And Fender USA pickups. It also came with a special tweed 60th Anniversary Case, which I don't have. I bought a very high end American Pro Strat case for it.

Love it! I had had excellent luck with MIM strats and teles of various series. Those classic players are nice.

some people think a strat is a strat but damn there are quite a few variations. Neck profile, fretboard material, pick up selection, bridge type etc. when it comes to electrics I always come back the STRAT!!
