It's the middle of the afternoon. My grandparents always had "coffee" at 3:00 along with a snack of some sort. I don't really practice that routine as I snack whenever, but was wondering what are your favorite snacks?

I like tortilla chips, dark chocolate, and ice cream as snack options but I think the one snack that I really enjoy as being, "oh, this is so good", would be black grapes with creamy (not crumbly) blue cheese.

I think I'll go get some now.

A piece of dark chocolate and some nuts, usually almonds or hazelnuts.

Coffee! Also some nuts or granola.

Were your grandparents Swedes? Were they used to afternoon coffee like Brits with afternoon tea, perhaps?

Don't knock it til ya tried it. I created this in college after a hard night of partying and using the ingredients ion hand to satisfy a righteous case of the munchies.

Not related but we'd also buy a 50# bag of Idaho taters each year and hand them out to the trick or treaters on Halloween. They loved it and we were the hit of the town.

Ahh, I miss those days.

I don't know about favorite, but my dad's preferred snack was chocolate ice cream and a side of pretzels, which we all had when our little nuclear family (seven of us) sat together in front of the TV, back in the '60s and early '70s.

My dad died in 1974, but to this day chocolate ice cream doesn't taste right to me without a pretzel chaser, and I think of him the three or four times I indulge in this snack combo every year.

Certainly not my favorite snack, in fact I really did not like them at all but we would have several campfires every summer/fall w/my wife, daughter, (6-10 years ago) and her friend(s). Of course smores were de rigueur.

I HAD to have one or young daughter would frown.

One night I had a nice neat glass of bourbon w/me and as I bit into that God awful combo I washed it down with a sip of the whiskey....WOW!!

What a combo. I had 2 or 3 that night. I had thought perhaps the ginger in graham crackers was the hit but that's not an ingredient. Either way yummy!!!
