and I can't help but post this one too...

I bet that audience got their ears completely blown out.

Zep played a concert at Kezar Stadium in SF's Golden Gate Park back during the early 1970s. I was living in The Panhandle at the time, all the way up on Fell Street. Even inside my flat, that show sounded LOUD!

Just finished watching a great doc on Amazon. "Once We Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and The Band" Robbie slings a tele for almost all of his professional career up to Last Waltz, which had him pegged a Strat man for all those like me far to young to have ever seen them.

June 2nd 173. A very famous Zep Show. Jimmy in the all white suit (a rarity) They released dozens of white doves and one landed right on Plant's hand...which wound up a poster on my bedroom wall when I was 16. 🤓

And just in case you want to relive the entire 2 and 3/4 hrs... 😂

Absolutely MUCH louder here than Denmark 68. That was just small club loud.

(And sorry for the mega veer.... but bringing up Zep for me is like bringing up Guild ......for Hans. 😉 )

Looks like a Fender Esquire - one single pickup at the bridge. Some would say they are essentially the same guitar except for that difference...
Okay, thanks. I can't recognize guitars like you guys can. Kinda like recognizing cars; in both instances I have to be close enough to read what's on it.

I believe, though, in reading about Mr. Lang he did play teles, at least at some point.

Buncha cool guitars on stage here including some Teles.

that dude was an amazing guitar player. His playing was way overshadowed by his music and style, meaning, he did such eclectic stuff and was so the brand of Prince, that his guitar playing hardly ever got the notice it deserved. And I was not a fan of the music, save for the song Purple Rain, but the guitar solo at the end of that just flat out rocks.

and on a Tele!

That rendition is an utterly amazing moment in time.
the song itself is so boring, I must admit, I cannot stand that Beatles song. However, that solo elevates the tune and that is really saying something...but it's a "me" problem no doubt, Mikey. There are a lot of Beatles and Stones songs I just cannot listen to, mostly, cause they are not Who songs lol. The Who was just different...

As I get older however, I am starting to really dig the Beatles earlier stuff, it was so raw and rocking.
