Strange X-170 designation

I suspect it may be related to the date stamped into the back of the headstock below the serial number.

Y'made me look because that was only done for a limited time in like '87.
EDIT:
Oh, how about that, it IS an '87 according to Guild's s/n charts, in fact it does look like it's "08-87"on headstock.
So now, since labels were copied from headstock s/n, looks like somebody couldn't see/read that date clearly, and didn't realize date wasn't part of model number...
Probably that new kid after his first Pepsi Friday. :glee:

Anyone know what the "E08" denotes?
Internal shop code, was copied to label by accident. I have seen pictures of HL100222 and HL100235 with such label. Hans told us before it simply means "Amber finish" which was darker than the blonde finish.
