Do tell. There's a couple of new Surfliners coming soon, but I've been instructed to shut up.
Hopefully, one of them has a vibrato tailpiece regardless of pickup configuration. There's a couple of new Surfliners coming soon
No, will be actually a bit more expensive. Two ... pickups keep the price point low...
It's never too late Mr. Dylan!Saw this on FB today!! I got excited then life got in the way. Wow!! I want ... I've never had an electric guitar in my life... but I want this one!!
So will this model be a less expensive alternative to the MIC Aristocrat HH.The new "Guild Surfliner HH" with two "HB-2"
If this was a question, yes, definitely. $469 street price and EUR 529 in Germany (incl. 19% VAT).So will this model be a less expensive alternative to the MIC Aristocrat HH.
I see it as production for different price points.I think they have competing parts of the company designing products.
Maybe, Ralf. It seems highly disorganized though... More indicative of random people throughout the company just coming up with ideas. I have no problem with that, by the way, but even if they're looking at different price points, as you say, they are cannibalizing their own sales, I think. Don't you? We've already had people look at NS Starfire 5s and end up with SF1s... I don't know.I see it as production for different price points.
Ralf
Yes, but I'm looking at it on a "by model" basis. The Surfliner HH is a solidbody with a full-size HB pickups. The MIK S-100 would the closest model in terms of specifications, but it's a much more expensive (and better quality) guitar. The MIC Aristocrat HH, while chambered and not fully solid, isn't terribly expensive, but it has a set-neck while the Surfliner has a bolt-on neck making the Surfliner less expensive to make. But, things are already weird since Guild has competing models between StarfireI (Indonesia, I think) vs the MIK/MIC StarfireNs...
True dat. We've already had people look at NS Starfire 5s and end up with SF1s... I don't know.
I guess my thought is this, GG... If this plethora of models puts more people on to Guilds, one way or another, then it's great! That's essentially adding to the value equation for Guilds. Once upon a time, Guild used to be the best value for the money. That vanished in the mid-2000s and I would love to see that back.Yes, but I'm looking at it on a "by model" basis.
