Before the Chrysler K-car Pontiac contemplated the Trans Am K-Type:

In the spirit of changing things up simply for the sake of change (to keep one's market from becoming bored), Oscar Meyer has re-invented the wiener and given us the Frankmobile.

No AM radio, no mechanical grills, microwave only. Pepsi, no Coke. Turbine powered with onboard methane fuel generator. Upper body shell composed of genetically modified hotdog casing material. Tires composed of synthetic rubber derived entirely from expired hotdogs diverted from the fuel generation process.

But at least the name sucks.

You've just reminded me how badly I'm craving a grilled Nathan's hotdog! Can't wait to get back to civilization!

A complete travesty. The Frankmobile? I don’t think so! Time to employ the wiener-whistle, call for back-up support, & get that imposter off the road!

Just think had they mated a beefed up Dymaxion to the Spruce Goose, now there was the ultimate travel vehicle... when two great minds come together.

I thought it was a portable sex toy for King Kong's wife.

@RBSinTo mentioned Neville Shute in another thread, which reminded me there's a cool "Grand Prix" race in the movie of On The Beach which features some some cool classics rarely seen today at, as the Brits (and Aussies?) would say, "full chat":

Okay, here's a good one!! Back in Thousand Oaks, CA.... we had all the horses and stuff and there was a property up the road but the lot was mostly HILL and with a small corral down low with one old gray horse. Found out Jennifer was it's owner, but she was crazy and her parents (mom and step dad) even CRAZIER. They hardly ever left the house and Jen and I used to ride out on the trails but she'd freak out and then just gallop home. Then one day they sold the place. I don't know where the horse went, or Jen. Then some non-horse people moved into this house WAY up on the hill. Nice house, long drive up the hill. And then suddenly one day there's this covered automobile in King's old corral. I don't know when it got there. So it's covered up with a tarp and then the wind blows one day, and it's kind of uncovered. Keep in mind they had a 3 car garage up on the top of the hill. So then I see this car.... going.... WTF?? And I uncovered THIS!!! Remember this was the mid 70's and we didn't have resources like we do now. I had to do a lot of research to find this thing!!

Honestly, I had no idea until later. And why they'd leave a car like this under a tarp in an old horse corral is beyond me.... what a COOL CAR!!!

Shucks, I didn't say.... Facel Vega!!!
