A while back, my wife and I downsized to an old house with half the floor space of the one in which we raised our kids. And zero closets.

We literally gave away half our belongings (the crappy half)! The only collection to make the cut was my guitars. Now I am in the process of downsizing them as well.

My collection is my red and green Starfire basses. I am thinking of converting the red one to fretless soon.

:) What Harp Tail said.

Now tell me you don't have a collection of used bass strings shaped like a tree or something, lungimsam.... :D :D

Oh yeah, I have a substantial collection of mostly vintage safety razors:

That's not even close to all of them. I also have enough razor blades (most of which aren't made any more) to shave everyone in town daily for probably 100 years.

I have bricks and bricks of old Gillete 7 O'Clock blades that are no longer made (these blue ones were some of my favorites):

I don't do anything halfway.
I've got a small collection of razors as well, will have to get round to taking some pictures:unsure:

I’ve surrounded myself with a good bit of stuff but within that what alone qualifies as a collection is minimal! My guitar pedals for sure, and maybe the animal skulls. There’s also a smattering of antique Coke / soda fountain items throughout my space. I think these three machine-age tape dispensers from 3M are kind of interesting and they go with my desks and file cabinets.

I have a collection of collections.
The largest collection of collections ever collected ... might just be the collections on display at the House On The Rock in Wisconsin. If you ever have the opportunity and a half day to spend it's pretty amazing!

I have two full shelves of Ed McBain novels — about five feet total. (You're welcome to make an offer!)

I used to collect chopsticks in red wrappers and wine corks, but my wife threw them out when we got married. She's got something against germs.

I used to collect Dominoes delivery pizza boxes when I lived alone and didn’t see a problem with having 100+ old pizza boxes stacked in my bachelor apartment kitchen. My new girlfriend (now wife) just sat on the couch and laughed when she first saw them. Then she made me throw them out.

She still talks about that.

Oh. And hats. Almost forgot. I must have over thirty. The rest are mostly fedoras, westerns, Panamas, engineers, gamblers, and watch caps. I have a homberg, a derby, a bus driver, and a Greek fisherman. Also a couple of those sombreros they give you on your birthday at Mexican restaurants.

And one baseball cap, which I found on a Cape Cod beach back in the nineties and wouldn't be caught dead in. I put it on when I found it so my girlfriend could take a picture, took it off, and haven't worn it since.

And unless my eyes deceive me, so do you!

Since the pandemic I’ve pretty much quit smoking them. I started playing guitar right around then and guitar is an indoor activity and smoking a pipe, at my wife’s insistence, is decidedly not.

A good friend of mine started pipes in his early ‘50s and went off the deep end. He has hundreds of some very nice pipes, hundreds of tins of rare tobaccos, and even runs an online forum for pipes. I try to make fun of him but I do not have the moral high ground there. :)

What forum does he run?
