I haven't posted before, so if this is not the right place to post this, I apologize and please let me know where would be more appropriate. I have a '63 T 100 D in great playing shape I'm getting ready to sell. The pups are transitional, with Franz hardware, covers, but Todd coil. One pup was dead. I was disappointed that they were not the Franz bobbins. The working pup did not sound at all like the original Franz. It was microphonic and squealed. The Todd coil is very unusual. I've never seen a design like it. No real bobbin and completely encased in epoxy. Since one pup was dead , I had them both rewound by Lindy Fralin. He wound them like the original Franz, 1000 turns less than a P-90. He also wound them opposite directions so they are hum cancelling when both are on. It now sounds and plays great, and is very nice cosmetically for its age. I still have the original working Todd coil. My question is 1. would it be better to have the original put back together; and 2. What do folks think is a reasonable price to ask ?
