I have owned many Martin's,Roy Nobles, Bourgeois and Collings and also a Merrill and the D 40 goes along with the best of the best! If you did not know it it looks brand new with that ageing toner stuff Martin use's but this is the real thing. It plays like a new guitar and it is not at all broken in, the frets are great and med. low action with great action but I may raise the action in the future, it has a perfect neck.
I have the full report of the luthier and work he did and will add that to, in the next days.
Yes this is worth every penny, I have never seen a guitar this old look this new.
