Coincidentally to wisconsinred’s post, here is my recent Clist acquisition. A Christmas present to myself. She was almost mute with ancient strings when I picked her up in a parking lot meet-up. I took a chance, and with new strings, the tone is what I expected and hoped for – special. She is going to the luthier today, as I am picking up the repaired Corona D50. The action on the D35 is a tad high. The tuners seem to work well, but, interestingly, you can see in one of the pictures that one of the tuner screws is slot head, the others Phillips head. I am wondering whether I should just go ahead and have the tuners replaced with new Kluson 3 to a plate metal button nickel tuners, as long as she is in the shop anyway? The holes diameter and little screw positions would exactly match, no?
