Interesting to see the "solid body" advertisment showing the hollow body M75. The Guild electrics advertisement with the sheet music shows the correct guitar.

So that sheet music is in Eflat...Hendrix and many other blues players tune down a half step.

The amp collage picture is one of my favorites and it includes an amp that to my knowledge was never released...the 747. From the limited info I was able to find it was like a Thunderstar on top of Superstar amp. I suspected it had a power amp section in both cabinets but the top "Thunderstar head" controlled both cabinets. If anyone has any more info on the 747 I would like to hear it. The 747 would have been the loudest Guild amp for guitar.

Can't say much about true music notation but I assumed if a musician tuned his guitar to a lower key the musical score would be at the key it was "tuned". With TAB it would likely advise the player to tune down before playing the TAB.
IF I recall Johnny Winter often tuned down a whole 2nd to get that exaggerated "stretchy" tone. A tuner would say low "E" was "D". I think Fogarty tuned to D on occasion also.
I had always assumed sheet music for rock songs before the advanced computer software era were scribed by music masters with Perfect Pitch and not necessarily guitar players.

Love the Moore Computer typeface in the ad above. I really dig the 50s-70s electronic typefaces like Westminster and E13B. Amazingly, E13B is still the standard on checks in the U.S. since the 50s.

Very cool ads, flubs and all.
