My understanding (which is small) is that they were special order until 74’. Looking to learn more.
It was already listed in the October 1968 price list.

Couldn't agree more, lucky to have it. The guy said somebody was wanting to drive from st louis for it. (to eastern ohio) the top has definitely aged and darkened. Its in great shape other than the neck needing reset. This one is also different from the 73' I used to have, that one had a black pickguard. This one has a red pepperoni one. So i guess that's something you'd choose during the order process? Definitely the positive side of it being left in the case, it being fairly clean.
