Can anyone tell me what a mint blonde 2000 Jumbo F-50 would be worth? I saw one on ebay for $2400.
Thanks,
Bernie

$2400 seems high, even for a mint, 10/10 guitar. I've see them, usually in the fourteen to eighteen hundred range, at least here in So Cal. Then again, it's Ebay where wishful thinking is shining in every sellers Baby Blues

A 2000 build date is the tail-end of Westerly production, so it's going to be a little more desirable than a more recent Corona or Tacoma model. That said, it probably depends on who you're talking to.

For example, one of our members, Treem, had a very nice (I've played it several times....) '79 F50 in maple for sale. He had upgraded the tuners to Grover Imperials (an Option in '79) and besides some cosmetic issues on the back, it is a wonderful guitar. He had it listed for under a thousand dollars, a real bargain.

That's for a true, vintage Westerly Guild. Shoot Him a PM or Email and see if He's still interested in selling.

The used guitar market is really depressed, and prices reflect that. I would expect that guitar to sell in the $1200 range, tops. It's a good time to be a buyer, lousy to be a seller. Maybe things will turn around in 10-15 years?

This one has been listed in the classifieds at AGF since May without being sold. I'll bet if you offer the seller $1000 he'd go for it at this point. Looks like a nice one, too.

Bernie,

Are you interested in a Westerly F50? I've got a Westerly JF65 which is an identical guitar.....for WAY less than $2400. I'd give mine a 9.5 out of 10. Only the number designation changed on the F50 to JF65.....same maple jumbo body, same bracing, same appointments, both top of the line jumbos in their time.

Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

West,

Let me know if you want to let go of your JF65, I am looking for a great one and it sounds as if yours fits the bill. I currently have a 2000 JF65-12 that I think is simply amazing in terms of tone a playability (I will need to post some pics of this one, it is a beauty), and I really would like to have this same quality in a 6 string. My only other acoustic is a Martin HD-28V, I had to play about 14 Martins to pick out a great one. Hoping that someone here at LTG can help me in my quest for great jumbo maple tone in a 6 string, as those Gibson J200s just don't cut it for me.
