Hi,
What would be a reasonable amount pay, to purchase from a Dealer a NOS 2006 Guild D40 Jubilee, in basically minor shopworn condition....not bad, but it has been played a fair amount.

Same thing for a NOS 2006 D50 BlueGrass Special, also from a Dealer.

I am just getting back into Guilds, and do not have a clue what the original list was, what these are worth, or what I should pay/offer for these. Also, I know how to work the shipping, so I just want to know what a fair price would be in the Forums opinion.

Any info would be appreciated.

Best,
Michael

I don't follow the mahogany guitar, but I just got a 2006 NOS Guild D-50 Bluegrass Special about 4 months ago at a dealer. It had been there a while and was marked down to around $1300 (with a 2009 list price of around $2,899 I think). I traded for it so I don't remember the exact figure, but I think I have it on the paperwork when I get home tonight to look at it. Granted, that was a helluva deal. I do see relative new (haven't checked serial # for exact age) but somewhat shopworn D-40 BJ guitars at a couple of stores I frequent. They seem to be in the $1200-1300 range. D-40 BJ lists for $2699 now.

Get 'em to include shipping! :D

In January '09 I bought my D40 Richie Havens for $1,125. It had been on the wall at the store for a little over a year, and was definitely what you'd call shopworn. It has several dings that don't affect the sound, but definitely made it less than perfect. The store marked down all their acoustics that they'd had for over a year just to move them, and they gave me a further discount because of the dings. I felt like it was a great price for a great guitar. Not quite model you're asking about but similar. It was hanging up next to a pair of D40 Bluegrass Jubilees, all Tacoma made, and mine sounded best. :D

Those Blue Book values have little to do with the real world prices around here. Their used high value at 100% is over the price for which you can buy the guitars new with warrantee at online pricing. The low end of their 100% is more an area in which you can buy them new in stores frequently.

Both of those guitars are SO good that they'd be worth it even if you had to pay full list.

Good luck! Let's see now, a new D25, now eyeing a D40 or D50 -- looks like our friend dadthrash is giving in to GAS. Let's follow suit!

I am happy for you, however mine is perfect and got it for 800.00. Not rubbing it in, just letting everyone know how excited I am to have this superb instrument.
