Antique was much darker:Good point, Al. My F-512 has no "NT" or other suffix on it. In any case, not sure whether Thunder Cannon's burst is iced tea or antique.

Sorry for the long overdue response. I was looking at post and this one caught my eye again. I would say that they are from the same "swatch". The edges around the top seem to have the darker Honey and the center having the lighter coloring. I bought a D-40 in Sunburst finish in 2008. I did not like the wider black edging, as it made the burst look confined, just not subtle enough. Your F-30 is beautiful and educates me again, knowing that Burst was around earlier in the Guild world. But that color is a rare bird today and they should bring it back as a LTD or Re-Issue for a set time! It would definitely sell and that is the name of the game!Boy, that top color really makes the rosewood sides pop. Beautiful guitar!
Again, sorry for the delay. My wife and I wanted to display, at the time, some of the current collection in a more relevant and artistic manner. I searched for about two weeks and found each from different manufacturers. The floor rack is KD(knock down) in furniture terms, my family owned a high end furniture retail business from 1977-96, and the wrought iron wall hanger can be combined for 5 position display or divided into 2/3. In our case, the wall space called for the latter and it worked like we had planned.Hey @Thunder Cannon did anyone mention how radically cool both of those guitar racks are in your room? I love the inlays in your floor rack, and the leafy wall rack is gorgeous!
Yup, totally awesome! . Great stuff, ThunderCannonThe guitar rack has F-holes and herringbone purfling!
I am very sorry! I never replied to your question regarding my DY-95N. There were only 10 of these made, so I have heard through many grapevines. Kazuo himself, with the help of one of his most accomplished apprentices, took 6-8 months to build each one. These were from the late 70's. Mine is dated 12/21/77. I had as much "Luthier" work completed after arrival, as you can on an acoustic. My luthier makes $5000+ guitars, stunning bluegrass style with anything you want in/on it. He was blown away when I opened the case and then when he saw the back, he about fainted-NOT! He, and Gruhn's Music in Nashville, Wildwood Guitars and finally Chicago Music Exchange have never seen a pattern like the back on this one/to include the sides. I get lost looking at it sometimes.Thunder Cannon, what model is your tree of life A-Y? That is really exquisite. I'm assuming that A-Y called the back/side wood "Jacaranda" right? Whatever it is, that is some beautiful, wild-looking grain! Wowser!
That's some wonderful collection of Yairis, @Thunder Cannon ! Thanks for sharing them with us.I am very sorry! I never replied to your question regarding my DY-95N. I use Elixir Nano or Poly web strings, depending on the guitar and an occasional 80/20 set. I just put her through the yearly deep clean and this guitar, my DY 84 Brazilian and DY 84 East Indian Rosewood, plus my DY 90 Brazilian are the best acoustics I have ever heard, PERIOD. They ring like a far off church bell and play like my Schecter shredders. I found one of those Reverb sellers who post magazine ads and this was listed as Jacaranda, but, the experts above say it is pure Brazilian and worth a bundle, even if it say's Yairi-Those that know, KNOW!
Finally, an mid 2000's Alvarez MD 500/5000, Nashville style acoustic with Brazilian B/S and Engelmann Spruce top. Another bell ringer! Alvarez rand these all SOLID Wood guitars for two years, the 500/5000 retailed at Musicians Friend for $3299. Most people would never pay that amount for and Alvarez of any kind. But, as I said, those who know-KNOW. Here it is! Enjoy! I am one lucky guy and in the right place at the right time!!! No defects, just reflections! The Yairi family to end this segment! Some remarkable instruments, even if they are mine! Rock and Roll, baby, Roll!
Bottom L-R: YAIRI--- DY80-12 Coral RW, DY91-Koa, DY90 EIR, DY90 BR, DY 95N per above, DY84 BR, DY 84 EIR, DY 40 C-BKE Mahogany and DY 90 EIR!
You are quite welcome and thanks. It has taken some time and negotiating plus a little $$$$ too! That's some wonderful collection of Yairis, @Thunder Cannon ! Thanks for sharing them with us.
Very, very nice finish/burst presentation. I am sure it has a glorious sound. As I respond to several members, I wonder why I don't have more Guilds. But, that gets me in trouble when I start thinking like that. I would love to grab the 70th Anniversary D-55.soon to come out! If you have not seen it, go to Guild and look at that Brazilian monster! Only 70 to be made. I own two Martin OMCE Blue Edge Burst LTD ED, # 33 & 36 of 50 made in 2019.. That and my Yairi DY 95N are the closest low number production run guitars I own. Well, 3 if you count my Minarik Goddess Supreme, #22. Look that one up on Minarik Guitars site. Mine is Heritage Cherry, and the sound, oh my god-electric sound perfection and over the top bling!! As The Tubes sang and my buddy Steve Lukather played, "Talk To Ya' Later!
I have now. Now I must change ever reference for this color. I was told, and you know what told means, opinion, that is was Honey burst. But since I like Arnold Palmer's(RIP) and have enjoyed several in his home back in our high end furniture days. We took several pieces that his name was on(Cherry Console, nightstand and pencil post bed), Council Craftsman Furniture, high end 18th Century reproductions in SOLID cherry, mahogany, walnut placed them on the 18th hole a Latrobe CC with Astroturf underneath. I love the subtleness of this color. Different, yes, but in a classy way. Glad I found my D-55 in "ICE TEA BURST" I stand corrected and have been on numerous occasions, and have returned the favor to several! Thanks again for the Ad and yours is beautiful, love the tortoise PG!!!! Sets it off well. I'll bet is sound heavenly! Mike T, Thunder Cannon and Guitarman all in one. That's Tacoma's "Iced Tea Burst", they only used it there. Never seen the term "Honey Burst" in any Guild lit that I can recall. Color ID'd in this '06 catalog:
Link to '07 price list where available finish colors are shown, note no "Honey Burst" anywhere, only 2 bursts: "ATB" and "ITB"

"Finally is my '07 F40 Valencia in an Iced Tea Burst:
Tacoma didn't denote finish colors on the labels, which is probably why @Thunder Cannon couldn't find a ref to the mis-identified finish color.
Thanks. I realize I came down kind of hard on you. I think the kind of customer you're seeking is just like me, wants to be sure the seller knows what he's talking about. You've goy an expert audience here, not just me.I have now. Now I must change ever reference for this color. I was told, and you know what told means, opinion, that is was Honey burst.
