The last 2 Guild Dread purchases I did online were a bust.
Both came as a different guitar than pictured even after confirming shown guitar was actual guitar.
Still trying to fill my empty Guild Dread case and thought lets give this one more try.
Going into surgery today and thought a new/old Guild may be some good entertainment to come home to. Dark D140.jpg

Best to you and your surgery - you are beginning your rehab in best possible way. It is a beauty and love that dark burst.

Yes, I too wish you success on your surgery today and a speedy recovery.. That dread looks great. I hope it sounds great too! D40? early D50?
I'm letting my 1996 DV52 delivered yesterday in the cold acclimate to indoor temp for 24 hours before opening....I'm getting excited; the clock is counting down and I can't wait.

May your surgery go smoothly, be a success in every way, and your recovery be speedy and complete, and may your Guild turn out to be everything you were hoping for and worth the wait.

I have a Mandola. I modified my Alvarez parlor.
The one on the left - I use quite frequently when playing out.
It was a six string Parlor but I got ambitious and converted it to an 8 string.

I've never met a DV52 I didn't like Walt.

F30, if this one doesn't work out, might I recommend a used older Guild for you down the road. Anyway, best of luck and hope the recovery goes well.

Finally landed today. To be honest at first I was not impressed.
To be fair it is used and has had some miles put on it but in really good overall shape.
A bit tough to play - then I checked truss rod which needed adjustment.
Play for as little - still wasn't really getting it.

So I put it down and came back to it after a spell. Put a Capo on the first fret and
what a difference. Played it for like an hour straight. Set up, Set up, Set up. The nut is cut quite high and uneven.
But after playing it with the capo on the first fret, I know its tone and feel now. Just need to get that nut sorted.
I really like the D140 feel and sound. I'm so use to having a 1 3/4" nut and the neck shape is very familiar.
It is a winner for sure and it looks nice. I think I do prefer the Mahogany back and sides now.
