Quick question, I saw the 1966 Polara below listed on Reverb. Really nice looking but what grabbed my attention was the location of the pickup selector switch and the addition of a Thunderbird style sliding switch with the chrome surround. I thought it was a modification by a previous owner as they say the pickguard is a reproduction. However, I did a quick search and found another 1966 Polara with the same layout so I am guessing it is stock. My 1964 is not routed to be able to put the toggle switch in that location.

Now to the question, what does the slider switch do? Is it just an extra capacitor or something? I am not aware of Mickey Mouse pickups having the ability to be put out of phase or anything. Sorry if this has already been covered but I wasn’t able to quickly locate. Thanks

No idea but I cannot recall ever seeing that switch or control layout. Looking forward to discussion and answers.
