My jam band is playing a party gig and my bassist only has a small practice amp. I also have a small 100 watt bass/keyboard combo. We are going to try running his Pilot through both. I am also thinking of running him through my Mackie SRM 450 12" mains. I can go out of the back of my amp which has a preamp send or I can mic an amp. Is either of these options better than the other? Or should I no way put a bass through my mains?
Yes he needs a gig rig and is planning on getting something, just not in time for this gig Saturday after next.
