Would anybody be interested in having a section of LTG devoted to sites that feature instructional vids, hard-to-find tabs, etc?
I like the idea too but I seem to recall there's some reason Don would prefer to avoid a subform or a "sticky" with a buch of links posted in it. Came up when I suggested posting a link to a magazine article with some interesting Tacoma period history in the "FAQ" sticky, but I don't recall exactly what all the sensible reasons were. Chaz could probably answer or help make it happen if I've got my info all Rosie'd up.

YouTube alert! Tom Strahle's Pro Guitar Secrets

This guy has uploaded over 100 amazing guitar lessons on subjects ranging from jazz soloing to folk grooves, from capoing to the ebow, the caged system, transposing, all manners of scales … all free for the viewing. I really enjoy his teaching style and I wish I had time to view and practice more of his lessons.

Here's his channel content:

OMGosh, this guy is GREAT! Thanks, Sal, for posting this great resource.

I'm with you, I like Tom Strahle's teaching style. The recent one I watched was the lap steel and I was amazed at the info he provides!

P.S. hf, thanks for starting this thread. :)

Thanks for starting this thread guys. Grey, Chordbook is way cool. HOWEVER, I can appreciate the other sites for the more established players but for us less established players, confusion reigns :x

Here's a little something I came across yesterday... Some of the tracks are pretty cheesy but there are gems in amongst

http://www.guitarbackingtrack.com/

Thanks for all the other links... much learning to ensue

Out of curiosity has anyone checked out Paul Gilberts Guitar School? He is a former/current? Mr Big guitarist and has set up using video lessons. You record yourself and send it in and he claims to give personal feedback and instruction to each student via reply video. Each video then becomes part of a much larger database which is accessible by all the students... Obviously his style is not going to be everyones cup of tea but I have an old old old VHS tape of his which I always found helpful as a young stadium rocker wanna bee 8)
Cheers
Mick
