A wound electric string slimmer than 17?

Maybe it's me, but can you clarify the question, Darryl? Is 17 the wound third?

Ah, that's what I thought! I use D'Addario EJ20 "Jazz Extra Light" strings on my ES-135. The wound G is .022, which works great for me, but doesn't sound light enough for what you are looking for.

The D'Addario EXL110W set has a wound third that is .018. I used these for a while and had trouble with the third string breaking. I don't have that trouble with the EJ20's.

Makes me wonder about "breakage" on a wound third lighter than .017.
