The seventies D-50 I posted about last week was wild geese. Too many red flags. So now I'm looking at a '92. Been emailing back and forth with the seller, and he seems legitimate.

He's asking $2,150 shipped for a good-condition guitar. The fretboard is a bit divotted down at the cowboy chords, but there are no other issues, and it has a K&K in it, which I like.

So: Fair price?

Thanks!

That could be a good deal. Did he send you close ups of fretwork near the nut? Does it it have the original Guild case in nice shape?
How is the finish of the overall guitar? If that's in good shape and the frets are still fretting chords reasonably clear it may be a great buy.

Fretboard wear is not a big deal to me. If my fingers ever touch the board, I know I am pressing too hard.

It seems to be in good shape. Has a nice cherry-burst finish, too. The frets look fine. The body finish looks good aside from a scatch on the back. The back of the neck looks its age. (I'm more concerned about how it looks to an audience, of course.)

The case is hardshell, but probably not original, since he didn't say it is. Since I'm not a collector, my hope is just that it's functional.

Just offered $2k, and he took it. (Ow!) Should be here soon:
