Gonna guess anyway. Dimebag Darrell, perhaps? If so then 1) he already has his name on a lot of Dean guitars and 2) he's not going to sign another.

To make it worse (compared to say, Johnny Cash signing your Guild), his type of music doesn't really lend itself well to an acoustic guitar, i.e rapid-fire heavy metal ("groove" metal). So why have him sign an acoustic? A solid-body electric shaped like a skull would be more appropriate!

Here is a thought:

Why not create an overlay - a "stick-on" - for this specific purpose?

Somebody create (or source) an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of transparent, adhesive material that can be signed by {your favorite artist}.

The adhesive must not adversely interact with the (in our case, nitro-cellulose lacquer) finish it will adhere to.

This would allow for a removable (albeit "save-able") signature for those who value the signature as well as a preservable artifact for those who may want the autograph but do *not* value the de-facing of the guitar.

Any takers?

This is the type of thing you'll continue to see, time and again until this Nation enacts a comprehensive, Anti-Drug Policy

Frono, Your link was an interesting read. Tragic how his life ended. Buried in a Kiss coffin with an Eddie Van Halen guitar. Sounds like he was a heck of a guitar player too.
I'll have a slice of humble pie.

It probably is a Dean, but the guitar is not why there is a Guild connection. Wry irony doesn't work in an internet posting. Trust me on that.

You know, I really was going to give you credit for subtlety rather than presume you didn't recall the DR and Guild connection. Maybe we need to remember Mark DRonge makes strings.

I noticed BP's new avatar yesterday (but somehow failed to point it out), but I missed frono's new one. Nice shirt!

I would imagine there would be a lot of Dimebag and Pantera/Damageplan fans who would love to own that guitar. Perhaps you should consider selling it and using the money to purchase a non-autographed Songbird. Just a thought.

And it is true that Dimebag was buried with Eddie Van Halen's second handmade black-and-yellow "bumblebee" Strat. Before he died, Dimebag, after meeting Eddie, was going to have Eddie sign a replicaf or him. Instead, Eddie had THE bumblebee buried with Dimebag.
