I'd never heard of this wood until reading recently about Art Deco. and Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann. ( What exquisite taste this man had. )

Gorgeous wood and some lovely examples showed up in a Google search.

Coastie, are you thinking of a solid-body electric guitar? The discontinued Guild GAD-5N nylon guitar had african paduak back and sides. Paduak is a beautiful wood, I'd say similar in appearance to mohagany but with a more saturated deep orange color. Amboyna burl wood seems to be prized by wood carvers.

Hi Sal.

Yes, I was thinking of a solid-body. A slab of Amboyna would make one very pretty guitar. I must google Paduak, which I'd assumed was some kind of "lesser" wood.

Wow! I've never seen guitar woods displayed like that. A buyer should have a pretty good idea what to expect. Nice.
