Hello

Just found the B402-A thread on here from the family I bought my 402 from while doing a google search.

I’ve been a Guild B series fan since I
found out what Ali McMordie (Stiff Little Fingers) was using. He was the first bass player that was a major influence. Took me years to find a 302 without headstock damage in the U.K. I’ve had a couple of 301s but I eventually had to import the 302 from the US.
Approximately 2 years later I found the 402-A about 120 miles away. Sadly it was for sale due to a family bereavement, however the family were quite happy to sell it to me when we talked for a while and i Told them of my obsession with the basses and that it won’t leave my possession now.

Both stunning basses, both with me for life too. 😎

NICE!!! Thanks for posting. Those photos made my day. I can't stop smiling. Those are both beauties and those amps/cabs are the perfect match. I've yet to play a 302 or 402 and am scared to lest I unleash another quest. As the current owner of two B-301's and a former Acoustic 370 owner I'd say your rig is completely tricked out. I played a B-301 through an identical 370 rig (a single one...seriously...two?!?) in the early 80's and it was inspiring.
Always a pleasure to see gear wind up in the right hands. Sad though it may be, I'm sure it made the previous 402 owner's family happy to have it find another lifelong home. Congrats and enjoy your righteous low end Guild goodness. The "B's" really are special.

Great introduction, David!

Welcome to LTG!!! And, congrats on acquiring your B-402!

I'm not a bass player, but those basses and your gear look great!!! You should get a picture with both of them!

You should definitely try a 302 or 402 out if you get the chance. I’d love to try 301 side by side with them.

Welcome. Nice setup! I've never owned a B series electric bass... I'm a short scale player pretty much exclusively these days with my Starfires, M85, and B30e (the acoustic B series) BUT I've been an Acoustic 370 owner for years now and always liked the tone of those B basses. So I definitely see a lot to like in your photos!
