My F-50 Koa with Adirondack top is not only responsive but clear, top-to-bottom.

I have only owned a NH F-512, and though it sounded absolutely wonderful, due to some build issues (not faults) it just wasn't the guitar for me, so it eventually got sold.

If you want balanced, then get yourself a New Hartford-built D55. End of story ;)

General question to those experienced with F-50/ F-55/ JF-55 in Rosewood : while RSW is know to be Mid range scooped, did you have a chance to play / own a really balanced RSW Jumbo ? I do have F-512 RSW which is evenly balanced, but after trying about five 6 string rsw jumbos (from '74 to mid '00), all of them lacked it. Is there this perfect one of both worlds - Overtones of RSW and Balance of Hog ?

Thanks in advance.

If you ever get the chance try a GV70. They are hard to find, F-shape, rosewood, roughly 16 x 5 lower. Very evenly balanced, not bass heavy.

I came to conclusion spruce/rsw dreads are not for me (and I tried dozens of high-end Guilds, Martins, Gibson, Collings etc.) . Rsw Jumbo is the one I'm after (after extensive search, Mpl is also came out of scope, I like my current F-40 Trad. hog jumbo better than any Mpl I tried, but still missing those enchanting rsw overtones). I hope to find the balanced one at some point.

Thank you HeyMikey for the tip, will keep it in mind (they do look so good !). Tho as I understand only 59 of these were ever made, so some big guns will be needed for this type of hunt. Meanwhile, the only GV70 currently available is this one:

A bit off my budget and I'm not sure about the blue gloss either ... ))

I didn’t even know they made a Koa version. Now I’m very interested. Koa usually has sparkling highs and not a lot of lows or low mids but in a jumbo this might be a fantastic wood and size combo

But have you ever got a Blueridge BR180A or BR280A hands ? 😂🤣
