There has been a flood of scams on other guitar forums and it looks like LTG is not immune. I'm listing them as I see them.
Best way to deal with scammers:
New user (but not always) places ads by ripping off Reverb/CL/Ebay ads) trying to defraud people by getting you to go offline (as in via email instead of Reverb/CL/Ebay) so they can scam you without recourse.
WTB Scam #2
New user (but not always) replies to your WTB ad by sending PM's saying their friend has what you are looking for then refers you to another email address which is always from a free email service (gmail, aol, hotmail, etc.)
FS Scam #1
New user (but not always) responds to your FS ad saying that their friend wants to buy your item and tries to get you off the forum via texts and emails where again, there's no recourse when things go bad.
Best way to deal with scammers:
- Trust your gut and report them! Every post including private messages (conversations) have a report button. Use it!
- Do not use PayPal Friends and Family unless you 100% trust the person.
- Do not use Western Union to send money
