I have a 2003 Bluesbird which I like very much, but I have never played any others. Can anyone tell me the differences between a Corona bird vs a 70's/80's/90's? Thanks!

Pickups, the newer ones have Seymour Duncan pups, the vintage ones Guild HB-1 buckers.

Neck radius and nut width are different

difference in location od set tailpiece from the early 70's compared to the newer models

those are my first guesses but sure others will have more info.

This 2003 has some chunk to the neck compared with my 2001 X-170, but it's easy to get used to. I like the pups, but I suspect my Guild buying days are far from over, so there may be a vintage bird in my future...as well as a SF II, S-100, Nightbird, X-700, and an acoustic or two to be named later.

I suspect when you receive your SFIV your GAS will begin in earnest. Some of us feel a compulsive need to acquire multiple guitars with HB-1 pickups (um, yeah, click the signature pic below) and you may be the next. Remember - Go vintage!

Gabba gabba we accept you we accept you one of us.
