I love cruising the various sites imagining what I'd buy if I won the lottery. This one at Elderly caught my eye. I'm a sucker for blue anyway and Breedlove makes a fine guitar.

Our own Tom in Vegas has/had one (although I don't think blue) and he always spoke highly of the model. Posting this just because.

Exquisite, that. Love the "blue eyes", a perfect nickname, it looks like a sheet of glass made for Stained Glass crafting. Stunning.

I don't buy lottery tickets but if the lottery folks ever accidentally show up on my doorstep with a million bucks, the likelihood of which is about the same as winning a lottery anyway, I want this one:

. . . I finger-picked that for about two minutes a couple of years ago at BlueDog; the guitar remarkably feels weightless. The sound that it produces is like being in an empty cathedral built specifically for maximum acoustic response. Brilliant polyphony, too, the sustain is off the charts and the note decay is as close to perfection as one would think possible. I've never felt anything quite like it, that guitar is other-worldly. I've also never quite felt anything like I felt when I first looked at the price tag.

Myrtlewood grows on the southern Oregon coast, but even where I am on the north coast, there’s a store nearby that specializes in myrtlewood items. Beautiful visually, and a fine tonewood.

Yeah, I've heard nothing but good things about myrtlewood. I don't think you find much / any of it among the bigger vendors, but many of the independent luthiers seem to like it!

Mac, Kevin Ryan is one of those guys I've followed over on the Acoustic Guitar Forum and he's definitely among the top luthiers. Koa can be just a totally eye-popping wood if you get the right log. Doesn't normally do much for me sound-wise, but it wouldn't surprise me if Kevin can make it sing!

I can whole heartedly endorse an Oregon Concert Blue Breedlove!! Mine was a run of 50. Such an amazing guitar!! I love the light burst effect and it's Spruce/Myrtlewood. And the light herringbone makes me smile!!

Congrats Richard. Love the blue. I had a very nice sounding myrtlewood flute by Brent Haines for a few years. It’s a nice wood for instruments.

How about the made in China budget line of these Breedlove guitars? Any good?
