Short intro: I am a longtime Guild fanatic but new here.

I work closely with Vaclav Berosini who played bass with Brewer and Shipley. He had told me about them playing Guild but didn't have a good example of it to share until a few weeks ago. A few segments from the Midnight Special show were released recently and I thought I would pass them along to the forum.

Hope you enjoy. I think those guitars sounded great through the Re-55s and whatever signal chain happened in the audio truck. Wish I had one!

Thanks for that, JLance! Here are six degrees of separation (or maybe more, lol): One of my wife's PhD students is the nephew of Jim Pepper who wrote Witchi-tai-to -- one of my favorites of Brewer and Shipley. I was doubly a fan when I realized they were Guild players -- and jumbos at that!

JLance, let's hear more about you and your Guilds. What've you got, and what are your thoughts.

And, again, welcome aboard!

I played a 1996 Guild acoustic I bought new at that time for several years. Then I didn't get another Guild until a few years ago. I have a Walnut Starfire SC, a Surfliner and Surfliner HH, and a D-260E Deluxe. I really love that guitar and hated to see that one discontinued because I was trying to find another one for a friend. He settled on an M-240 which is really nice and fun to play.

I have to say that I've never had to do much setup with any of those. I know they are considered the affordable end of the Guild line but the quality has been outstanding and I play the Surfliner everywhere now. I haven't touched my Strat since I got it.
