To really set the vibe you need one of these:

How about a milk crate amp stand for the room? I'd saved these web images because it looked like a good idea. I'd want to smooth those edges a bit before I set a tweed in it.

Aaaaaah! Life seemed so much simpler back then. The phone was left at home, usually attached to the wall by a wire and only used when you were stationary. There was no Internet for the average American / only government. Television came through an antenna, in most cases, and there was a choice of maybe 10 channels if you were in a metropolitan area. Cars were still big and heavy for the most part and Guild Guitar was still in Westerly RI.
The closest I got to brick and board furniture were a couple metal milk crates for VHS tape storage and two beanbag chairs.
Yeah....gotta love those big heavy cars of yore!

And it's a Garrard. What all HS and college age boys aspired to in the late '60's.
Aaaah yes, then the 70's -80's Dual vs Garrard era! Wow and flutter of what.....10%?

I poke around on audiophile sites occaisionally....nice to see Marantz still around and very relevant.

And Technics?? Wowza!

Please don't tell me you have a Macintosh amp. I don't need any more jealous envy. (I got a Kenwood now, though :D )
McIntosh amp?... I wish !!! No, the amp/tuner I have is an Onkyo TX8211 like this:

Someday, I would like to get an all-tube monster... but that's not in the cards, right now.

But here's an image of the stereo model 275, two channels, 75 watts per channel that was discontinued in 1971. You could knock a few walls down with that power !!!

Jerry's guitar rig incorporated a Fender Twin preamp and a McIntosh power amp.

There is a Dead tribute band called Dark Star Orchestra and their current phake Jerry plays through a copy of the JG rig plus he bought a cabinet from the wall of sound and he really does sound great. Last time I saw them he was using Garcia's "Alligator" Stratocaster. There is a wealthy collector who owns a bunch of Jerry's old axes and he lends them out regularly.

Oh, I was never a board and brick/cinder block guy. Boards and plastic milk crates was more my style. I still use plastic milk crates to hold extension cords and PA cables and , sometimes as a table for my mixer at gigs.

All this talk of milk crates made me wonder if anyone delivered bottled milk any more. Surprise... YES! There's a dairy in the Boston area. Even better, you can sign up online!!! Talk about mixing the OLD with the new...

I recall, when I was really little, the clunky Borden's and Twin Pines milk trucks and others delivering milk in the neighborhood. We got Borden's. I recall the drivers standing as they drove slowly from house to house so they could get in and out of the truck faster.

We had a galvanized insulated box that sat on the front porch for the delivery to be put in

"Milk Chutes" were on the houses next to the back door. But these fell out of favor as thieves discovered that they could pop the inner door open and reach the back door knob to unlock and open the back door of the house. So, ours was covered over out side and inside it became a little locker for Mom's gardening tools and gardening gloves.

We had a milk box like that when I was a little kid. After it was no longer used for milk delivery we used it as an explosives containment box. We would take our old plastic car models and strategically disassemble them with perfectly placed firecrackers! We would light the fuse, stick the model in the box, close the lid and sit on it! This way we could shoot off firecrackers all day without the neighbors calling the Cops on us!
