I am primarily a strummer. I am noticing my aggressive strumming apparently leaving marks on the top of my GAD25 on the treble side right where the pattern of the pickguard is thinnest.

Does anyone else have this problem and have you changed the pickguard? In the meantime, I'm trying to concentrate on strumming closer to the bridge, but for years, and I guess for the slightly mellower tone, I've strummed up by the neck.

I think it's fairly common to put "regular" Guild pickguards on GADs. A quick google search turned this up.

I have only taken them off. My GAD currently has no pick guard...very easy to do.

Gee. I didn't know there were places to buy Guild styled pickguards. I had a luthier cut a tortoiseshell for me. . . looks great.

My GAD 50 had no pickguard at all on it when I bought it.
