My fiddle player will be interested in this. So will my standup bass player. How about cello?
Doesn't seem too useful for guitar or mandolin where the strings are on a flat plane.

OK; actually he
did do some tweaking to his bridge (or more likely, I assume, it was the saddles) to get more of a "crown" to it, and in some photos you can see obvious shredding of the horsehairs.
And doubt if that would translate well to a standard flattop unless it was strung with flatwounds and probably a modified saddle which might render intonation problematic.
