Hello, I have a guild D 55 NT that I purchased in 1990 from a music store in Philadelphia. I’ve attached a pic of the the tag from inside the guitar and the stamped serial number on the back of the headstock. I’m not finding luck with the serial number because it does not have a prefix. everything about this guitar seems like a guild, but the number now makes me question whether it’s real. Thanks, Frank. Also, not sure what NT means. I appreciate any feedback 🙂

Welcome to LTG! Your D-55 was made in 1977. It's a beauty! NT - natural top.

Here's the chart you need to use to date it:

From 1970 to about 1979 Guild used number-only serial numbers - attached is the best list I know of.

Welcome aboard, Frank! Your guitar looks like a real beauty!!!! Any chance we can see some more photos? Especially of that absolutely gorgeous, honey-colored (from age) soundboard!!

Hey Chazmo, I’m happy to share more pics! And thanks for inviting me into the forum. The guitar got a bridge doctor recently to pull the belly in, and also a new passive pickup to replace 1 from 1990. Cheers! Frank

No, you need the print, hardcover version!
Yeah, good luck with that! Cheapest one I can find is used at $146 for a former library copy ... for a paperback! Last hardcover I saw on eBay was $350 I think. One just sold there for $500.
